Bollywood Beer: Cobra

I have tried a llion before, also a tiger, a buck, a goat, and probably many other animals (beer names, don’t get me wrong), but I have never tasted a snake before. Although not really an Indian beer anymore, since the production moved to the UK, but I still count it among my Asian beers.

Cobra

One of the most celebrated beer around the world has the looks of a typical pale lager with its light golden color and quite decent white and foamy head. The head does dissipate fairly quick, leaving only a small circle around the edge. The aroma goes hand in hand with the expectations – a slightly grainy aroma along with some maltiness doesn’t offer your nose too much. The taste is fairly neutral, starting sweet, followed by some grains, and coming together for a slightly bitter finish, together with quite decent aftertaste.

The final note. Cobra can be refreshing and easy to drink when served extra chilled, but the truth is it just doesn’t offer any real taste. Sadly, just another average lager. You give it one, perhaps two chances then move on to another one.
