Today I bring you the first beer from Africa that I had the opportunity to try. I got it from a friend of mine when he returned from his Tunisian holiday.
- Name: Celtia
- Brewery: Societe Frigorifique et Brasserie de Tunis (SFBT)
- City: Tunis
- Country: Tunisia
Celtia presents itself with a pale yellow, golden color, and is topped with a decent white foam, which settles down quite fast. Initially, you are hit with a skunky aroma, which is later replaced by a gentle hoppy smell, which is exactly what you want from a lager. The taste is slightly watery and sweet at first, and finishes with a bitterness in the aftertaste.
I must say, Celtia is very easy to drink and also very refreshing, probably even more so on the hot sand of the Tunisia’s beaches. A very nice and enjoyable beer from the northern shores of Africa.
